Performance
and capability enhancements
|
Spline
interpolation
Option 105, 7-000-5004105
|
With the use of a simple to
program G-Code, this option provides a 3rd order polynomial interpolation capability. The
feature accepts a standard RS-274 part program and performs a geometric analysis of the
tool path as part of the Acramatic® 2100 look-ahead algorithm. The feature will
automatically fit a smooth curve (a spline), whenever appropriate, through the programmed
points. The Acramatic® 2100 then interpolates along the spline. |
Spindle normal
coordinates
Option 103, 7-000-5004103
 |
This option provides a
Cartesian coordinate programming system (G52.1) to be programmed normal to a tilted
spindle. A tilt spindle machine has one or more rotary axes that define the position of
the spindle. Parts cut on these machines often have drawings with features specified in
Cartesian coordinates but normal to a specified orientation of the tilt spindle. To
simplify programming of these parts the Spindle Normal Coordinate System provides the
capability to define a Cartesian coordinate system normal to a tilted spindle. |
Integrated feed forward
(IFF) enhancements
Autotuning
Option 59, 7-000-5004059
 |
IFF (Integrated feedforward)
has been enhanced to allow Acceleration feedforward to be performed on analog Acramatic®
2100 controls. IFF includes several different types of performance compensations such as
Acceleration Feed Forward, Velocity Feed Forward Auto-Tuning (from the Acramatic® 2100) of
IFF parameters, previously only available on Acramatic® 2100 Digital controls, is now
available on Acramatic® 2100 Analog controls equipped with Acramatic® Servo drives. These
features may require OEM participation for optimal performance of the machine tool. |
Spiral/conical
interpolation (for tapered thread milling)
Option 106, 7-000-5004106
 |
This option provides a method
for programming spiral or conical tool paths. Spiral/Conical interpolation is just like
Circular/Helical interpolation except with a constantly changing radius. |
Multiple screen
resolution support
 |
This OEM supported feature
allows the Machine Tool Builder to use screen displays larger than 640 x 480.
Note: You will need to use the horizontal scroll bar on
your browser to see this page. |
Straightness/squareness
comp
 |
This OEM option supports a
simple compensation for straightness of axes and squareness for axis pairs that are meant
to be perpendicular. |
Cross axis error comp
Option 83, 7-000-5004083
 |
This OEM option supports
compensation of the position of one axis based on the position of another axis. |
Multiple handwheels
Options 84-86, 7-000-5004084 thru 7-000-5004086 |
This OEM option interfaces a
handwheel to an analog servo port. |
| Public interface
enhancements |
The Tool Resource File data
can now be accessed using the Public Interface Tool Management services. The current
active program name can now be read from the A2100 data base using the Variable Access
Read service. |
New Windows NT® Version
(on Systems Shipped directly from Siemens MCS Manufacturing only) |
On system hard drives shipped
directly from Siemens MCS manufacturing, Windows NT has been updated to include:
- NT Service Pack 6
- Driver for newer models of Iomega Drives
- Larger paging file
- Support for Chinese
- FTP server installed
Note: This only applies to systems shipped
directly from Siemens MCS manufacturing. Software upgrade only updates the Acramatic® 2100 software
ONLY, and does not upgrade Windows NT. |
